The First Offender Program is a “court diversion” program. The intent of the program is to “divert” a juvenile away from further penetration into the juvenile justice system. The Program offers a range of services to both the juvenile and the family.
The First Offender Program is designed to be a coordinated effort between the Native American Service Provider and the local juvenile intake system. Research with juveniles has shown that diversion programs can have very high success rates. The First Offender Program offers tribal youth program staff a complete program which proven success. |
